Baygard
Heavy Duty
Wire and Tape

| Baygard Features Mean Value
for Temporary and Portable Electric Fencing |
| I.
STRENGTH |
PVC coated
fiberglass gives Baygard high strength as well as low stretch and sag
properties. |
|
II. CONDUCTIVITY |
High
conductivity (low resistance) aluminum wire conductors. |
|
III. DURABILITY |
Baygard
conductor wires are .0159" (.4mm) compared to many competitive products
constructed of .008"(.2mm) conductor wires. |
|
IV. VISIBILITY |
High
contrast yellow and black color; also available in various widths of
tape. |
| V.
WEATHERING |
Baygard is
U.V. stabilized-formulated for excellent durability in sunlight. |
|
VI. FIRE RESISTANT |
Baygard,
unlike many competitive products, will not support a flame. |
|
VII. LIGHT WEIGHT |
Baygard
wire is light weight, only 4.5 lb. (2 kg) per 1/4 mile. |
|
VIII. EASY TO HANDLE |
Baygard
will not kink and is easy to re-roll and reuse. Breaks can be rejoined
by a knot. |
|
IX. REEL EASY™ SPOOLS |
Many
Baygard products are available on Reel Easy™ Spools for fast and easy
payout and rewinding. |
|
X. BAYGARD ACCESSORY PRODUCTS |
Baygard
"Step-In" posts and other accessory products are available to get the
most from your electric fencing products. |
Baygard Conductivity
Factors affecting
conductivity of electric fence wire are:
-
Diameter of the wire
(thickness)
-
Resistance of metal measured
in ohms per meter.
-
The lower the resistance, the
better the conductivity.
-
Number of conductor wires.
Conductor Wire
Diameter
Increasing the conductor
wire diameter will dramatically increase the volume of conductor wire.*

Metal
Resistance
The resistance of a conductor to
electrical flow (ohms per meter) is factor of the type of metal. Compare
the resistance ** of Baygard patented aluminum conductor to a .008"
(.2mm) stainless steel Polywire:
Baygard resistance is
approximately 50 Times lower than .008" stainless steel. Lower
resistance means better conductivity.
* Volume of metal is directly
proportional to the cross sectional area of the wire. (3.14R2
= Cross Sectional area)
** 3 Conductor wires
